Michael Ghutzman is the Chief of the Major Crimes Section at the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, he’s Board Certified in Criminal Law, and should be your choice to be the next judge of the 359th District Court in the March 3rd Montgomery County Republican Primary.
Michael is a Montgomery High School graduate. After high school, he played college baseball at San Jacinto College. Michael later attended Texas A&M University and earned both a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s in Public Service and Administration from the Bush School of Government.
In December 2015, Michael received his law degree from the University of Houston. While at the University of Houston, Michael focused on criminal law, interned at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, and won multiple awards for his skilled advocacy. Notably, Michael won the John Black Moot Court Competition where he was required to compete against everyone in his law school graduating class.
In March 2016, Michael started his career as a prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. While at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Michael prosecuted misdemeanor and juvenile offenders. Michael responded to vehicular crimes fatality scenes as part of the Vehicular Crimes Callout Team and also managed the misdemeanor Veterans Court Program.

Having had a front row seat to watch soft on crime, Democrat judges take over in Harris County, Michael applied to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and was hired by Brett Ligon in November 2017. On behalf of the citizens of the State of Texas, Michael has prosecuted over 4000 cases to disposition including violent crime, crimes against children, human trafficking, complex financial crimes, organized crime, narcotics cases, and money laundering. During his time as a prosecutor, Michael has distinguished himself as a notable trial lawyer having tried over forty cases to verdict. Michael has litigated some of the most serious cases in Montgomery County including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Continuous Sexual Abuse of Young Children, Failure to Render Aid Causing Death, Intoxication Manslaughter, Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, and Aggravated Sexual Assault.

A life-long Texan, Michael and his wife Britnee have five children. He currently serves on the board of the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Montgomery Crime Control and Prevention District.
Michael has always been focused on keeping Montgomery County safe and is the “law and order” candidate in this race. Michael would be honored to have your vote and support to be the next judge of the 359th District Court.
